Elevator Modernization Technician **$5K Sign-on**

Prime Elevator Corp is seeking an experienced Elevator Modernization Technician with a minimum of five years of hands-on elevator modernization experience. Candidates must have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and proven experience with SmartRise, EC/Vantage, and MCE controller systems.
This position primarily focuses on modernization projects and also requires assisting with major elevator repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform hydraulic and traction elevator modernizations, including installation, wiring, adjustment, and troubleshooting.
- Install and troubleshoot controllers, drives, door operators, fixtures, leveling systems, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, installation drawings, and manufacturer manuals.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control-system problems.
- Complete equipment setup, operational checks, and adjustments to support inspection and project completion.
- Assist with major repairs, including hoist-rope replacements, hydraulic packing changes, brake repairs and adjustments, and other component replacements.
- Coordinate with supervisors, helpers, and other technicians to keep projects moving and communicate issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and outstanding project needs.
- Follow company safety procedures, applicable elevator codes, and manufacturer requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five years of hands-on elevator modernization experience.
- Proven installation and troubleshooting experience with all three controller platforms: SmartRise, EC/Vantage, and MCE.
- Ability to independently diagnose electrical and mechanical elevator faults.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and traction elevator systems.
- Ability to read schematics and perform wiring, testing, and adjustments accurately.
- Willingness to assist with repair work outside modernization projects, including rope jobs, packing changes, and brake jobs.
- Ability to work safely in machine rooms, hoistways, pits, and on car tops.
- Dependable attendance, clear communication, and pride in quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications
- CET certification or other relevant elevator credentials.
- Experience leading modernization projects and training helpers.
- Experience preparing elevators for acceptance inspections.
